The Jesuits are the members of a Catholic religious community called the Society of Jesus, founded in 1540 by Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The Jesuits are deeply rooted in the love for Christ and driven by the vision of their founder St. Ignatius of Loyola, focus to help the needy and seek God in all things. They chose education as the key to uplift the downtrodden and the marginalized. Jesuit institutions focus on the integral formation of individuals with academic, spiritual and human values. The “Ratio Studiorum” or “Guide to Education” evolved by the Jesuits in 1599 remains as a universal code for education. The Jesuit educational pedagogy is an integral formation of individuals as leaders with social responsibility. Students are called to do their very best and to always strive for personal excellence in all aspects of life – intellectual, emotional, moral and physical. They are formed to be ``men and women for others:`` that is, the good things- material and spiritual which they want for themselves, they should wish for others too.
LICET is a new venture of the Jesuits to make technical education accessible to all without compromise on academic excellence. LICET is committed to forming individuals who would work for social transformation.
