At LICET, we always strive “To form responsible engineers, who would engineer a just society”. This is aptly done by inculcating values (ethical) and being empathetic towards others. Through Youth Red Cross, the students are moulded as engineers with humane dispositions which leads to the betterment of the society.

Roles and Responsibilities

President

The President directs the group’s activities and guides the committee meetings. The President has a clear understanding of the group’s interests, lets everyone have their say and makes sure the constitution is upheld. The President is responsible for making sure agreed tasks are carried out, and making decisions between meetings if necessary.

Secretary

The secretary is responsible for taking and circulating minutes, preparing agendas for meetings, organizing paperwork and correspondence, distributing information to members, and keeping members up-to-date about dates for other meetings and events.

Treasurer

The treasurer looks after the group’s income and expenditure by keeping the finances up-to date, keeping track of receipts and compiling financial reports detailing income and expenditure. The treasurer is responsible for budgeting for the group and preparing annual financial accounts that must be checked by an independent person.Be responsible for proper handling of the finance of the organisation, but not the actual raising of money. Responsible in preparing a financial statement for audit prior to the annual meeting Present the balance sheet and financial statement at the annual meeting after they have received audited accounts.

Programmes and activities

The mission of the Indian Red Cross is to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times all forms of humanitarian activities so that human sufferings can be minimized and even prevented and this contribute to create climate for peace

The unit of Youth Red Cross established in the year 2015 is ever active to accomplish vision and mission of LICET through various activities of social concern.

Presently, YRC has 75 students as its member and has numerous activities and tasks in pipeline for the growth of each individual and society on a whole.
